Since the label's creation in August 2013, two dubmakers have mainly shared the production work: Tozer and Mr Zèbre. It is precisely the latter that we find on this new release, already the seventh vinyl stamped Rootical Attack Records.
This is the first time that a sung version of Mr Zèbre has been released on this label, he who had accustomed us to Heavy Stepper, strictly Dub. The style does not change here, even if El Fata's soft voice comes to temper the roughness of the riddim. Here is a combination that works,' I Love Jah' is clearly a big tune!
The Dub version reveals a little more of the warrior side of the track, one might think that it is an OBF production. The third version contrasts with the first two versions, Sy Sao's melodica bringing a touch of "Roots", even if the totality of this side A remains clearly dedicated to the dancefloor.
On the B side, Mr Zèbre redid in the classic, with a Dub declined in 3 parts that it deconstructs differently and with brilliance. As for its name,' Yamasee War', it refers to one of the most violent conflicts in colonial America, which pitted settlers against various Amerindian tribes, including the Yamasee.
